UEFA Champions League Goal Summary: Olympiacos 3 vs 1 Arsenal
Olympiacos played host to Arsenal in the Champions League, in a game that was proving to be a highly irrelevant one.
Even if Olympiacos went on to win, they were going to knocked out of the tournament, while Arsenal were through to the next round, irrelevant of the result in the game.
Arsene Wenger went on to give most of his first team a rest and ended up utilizing an under par side for the game.
In the 16th minute, the home side went on to score the first goal of the game, as they went on to go one nil up against Arsenal.  A through ball was played through the Arsenal defence and despite the Gunners defenders getting a touch on the ball, it fell towards Djebbour. Djebbour then went on to round Fabianski, before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
In the 36th minute, Mannone tried to kick the ball away, despite it being well in his arms reach. The keeper initially tried to head the ball away, but then ended up flying in the air trying to get his boot to the ball. However, he failed to do so and the ball sailed into the back of the net.
Arsenal finally managed to get a goal back in the 56th minute, through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yossi-Benayoun-c37520. Chamakh headed the ball to Benayoun, who played on a pass for Miquel. The Spanish defender then flicked the ball back to Chamakh, who was taken out near the area, but Benayoun went on to rifle the shot into the goal, instead of opting to contest for a free kick.
Olympiacos went on to kill http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s hopes of picking up a draw for the game, as they went on to score a third goal in the 88th minute of the game. A free kick was whipped in and Mellberg hit a fine effort against the post. The ball then fell towards Modesto, who simply tapped the ball into the back of the net.
As a result, Olympiacos went on to win the game by three goals to one, but still got eliminated from the tournament.
