Arsenal played host to Udinese at home, in what was both the teams encounter in the qualifying stages of the UEFA Champions League.
Going into the game, Arsenal were looking to be rather depleted. The team were without their captain Cesc Fabregas who went on to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463
was injured.
Despite being down and being counted out, Arsenal started the game in emphatic fashion. The team came charging out of the gate right after the referee’s whistle.
In the 3rd minute, Walcott managed to spot a small opening in front of the Udinese goal and he went on to smack the ball into the back of the net. The Udinese defence was ripped apart by Ramsey’s pass and Walcott just managed to prod the ball
into the back of the net.
In the 9th minute, Di Natalie went on to smack a free kick which beat Szczesny and came back off the wood work. Had the ball had a little dip on it, it would have resulted in the perfect goal for the Italian side.
In the 26th minute of the game, Armero went on to make a tantalizing run into the Arsenal area. He then went on to pull the trigger and fire at goal, but Szczesny went on to produce a brilliant save and helped maintain Arsenal’s lead in the game.
As the match progressed, Arsenal continued to dominate possession and took the game to the Italians. On the other hand, Udinese went on to counter attack Arsenal brilliantly, but with the Gunners defence operating at full, for a change, they managed to keep
the Italians at bay.
The first half eventually ended with Arsenal taking the one goal lead into the break and with the second half now having everything to play for.
