Right after the restart to the game, Napoli looked to take the game to City. In the 49th minute Lavezzi went on to connect with volley from a corner and went on to beat Hart. However, Kompany went on to make a very crucial clearance of the line,
in order to keep his side in the game.
In the 53rd minute Lescott had the opportunity to find the back of the net from a free header, but the defender for some inexplicable reason went on miss the mark.

The ball was then played towards Cavani, who made no mistake as he slid the ball in the back of the net, with a brilliant finish.
In the 74th minute, Kolarov went on to get City back in the game. The full back went on to take a free kick from some twenty five yards out and curled the ball into the back of the net, after having beaten the keeper at the near post.
In the 78th minute, Dzeko had the opportunity to score from close range, but the forward failed to connect with a Johnson cross and missed the target altogether.
With both side closing each other out, the referee soon ended the game with the score card reading one all. As a result, both sides shared the points on the night.
