UEFA Champions League Match Report: Napoli vs Manchester City – Part 1
Manchester City travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 to take on Napoli in a game which was turning out to be a must win for both the teams involved in the contest.
Both City and Napoli were sitting in a favourable position to make it through the ground in the second position and hence, the three points would give their chances a massive boost in order to do so.
City were proving to be the side taking their superior domestic form into the game with them, while Napoli were simply looking to use their home ground advantage in their favour, in hopes of producing a result which would favour them.
The match kicked off with Manchester City doing all the talking early on in the game.
In the 6th minute of the match, Mario Balotelli went on to curl in an effort from range, which sailed just wide of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 goal, but showed the intent from the Premier League side.
However, soon after the Italians went on to dominate their opponents, as they created a number of brilliant chances.
In the 18th minute of the game, Napoli showed City just how lethal the Champions League can be, as they scored the opening goal of the game. Lavezzi went on to swing in a deadly cross, which was met by the head of Cavani. The striker got the slightest
of touches on the ball, but managed to do just enough to deflect the ball into the back of the net.
City took a while to respond to the goal, but in the 33rd minute, the Premier League side went on to score the equalizing goal in the game.
Following a poor attempted clearance by a Napoli defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 went on to be present at hand to knock the ball back towards the goal, as his effort went on to
beat the keeper.
As a result, both the teams headed into the half time break with one goal apiece and with everything to play for in the second half of the game.
