The second half of the game proved to be a whole lot more dull than the first forty five. City, being in control of the game seemed to be more than content with holding the ball and just retaining possession, instead of going forward to create another goal.
As the game continue, City kept on passing the ball all around the Villarreal players, who seemed to be chasing shadows all over the pitch.

In the 59th minute, Balotelli showed just how confident he was, as he struck a shot from some thirty five yards out towards the goal. His effort sailed wide of the mark, but came as a warning sign to the home team, who desperately needed to get
their act together.
In the 71st minute, City went on to put the game to rest as they scored their third goal of the game. City charged forward as a unit and Balotelli went on to play a low pass to Toure. The midfielder then took a touch to beat a defender, before
adjusting his body to knock the ball into the back of the net.
As a result City took the three goal lead, with Villarreal looking to be down and out.
As the match progressed, City just passed the ball amongst themselves, as they waited for the referee to signal the end of their game, which saw them secure the second spot in Group A.
