UEFA Champions League Player Ratings: Villarreal vs Manchester City – Manchester City
Manchester City travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 to take on Villarreal in a game that was supposed to be a close contest between the two sides. However, following an early dominance in the game, City went on to cruise to a three goals to nil victory, as they practically
walked all over their opponents in the game.
Here is a look at how the City players performed during the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699: The City keeper hardly had anything to do all night and probably made a maximum of four saves during the game, all of which failed to really test him or his reflexes.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184: Just like Joe Hart, Kompany could have been sleeping in the game and still gotten away with it, given the poor display the Villarreal forwards displayed during the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022: The full back was slightly busier on the night, as compared to his team mates, as he often went on to collide with Wakaso in the game. However, as the match progressed, the player was not given any real challange and ended up having a much
more comfortable second half.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stefan-Savic-c34022: The defender was brought in to help earn him a little experience, but given the team he was forced to face, he probably didn’t learn much, as he hardly had anything to do all night long.
Gael Clichy: Just like Zabaleta, the full back had a lot of work to do early on, but as the game progressed, so did the spirits of Villarreal and this just made the day a whole lot easier for Clichy and the other defenders.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international had an off game, but was still a whole lot better than the Villarreal players. His defending was much better than his attacking in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360: Was rather quiet during the game and didn’t get the opportunity to impress with his quick feet and pace in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601: Once again one of the most influential players on the pitch, as he constructed attacks and controlled the flow and the pace of the game for his club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882: The defensive midfielder had a brilliant game as he made numerous interceptions, while distributing the flow of play superbly.
Yaya Toure: Had an outstanding game, as he scored two goals and dominated the middle of the pitch.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937: Showed signs of his destructive self, as he could have been awarded a red card at the start of the game. However, he converted from the penalty spot and continued his fine goal scoring form.
