UEFA Champions League Semifinal: Match Report: Manchester United vs. Schalke’ 04 (2nd Leg) – Part 3
As soon as the second half kicked off, Schalke tried to take the game in their hands as they started to mount pressure on the Red Devils.
In the 50th minute of the game, Schalke almost got another goal in the game.
Jurado went on to slide in a pass towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652, who passed the ball to Farfan instead of taking a shot himself. Farfan went on to take the shot eventually but his effort was deflected for a corner.
In the 56th minute, United broke against Schalke and appeared to be ending things for good. Anderson was the player to ultimately curl a brilliant effort towards the Schalke goal. Unfortunately for the player and United, Neuer managed to make a remarkable save as he leapt across and palmed the out swinging curling effort behind for a corner.
In the 71st minute of the game, it looked like game over for Schalke as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling tapped the ball into the back of the net.
However, the referee disallowed the goal as the defender was in an offside position when he made his first touch on the ball. This effort was created after Nani and Anderson combined from a quick free kick before Smalling was played on by the latter.
In the 72nd minute, United made no mistake as they went up by three goals to one in the game.
Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 made a superb run down the right wing, playing Anderson with a brilliant pass. The Brazilian midfielder’s initial shot was blocked brilliantly, but the ball fell into his feet rather mercifully.
Anderson made no mistake the second time, as he went on to smack a low finish, past Neuer into the back of the net. As a result, the game was looking to be as good as over, despite around twenty minutes left on the clock (including stoppage time).
