The Juventus goalkeeper believes that Champions League finish is the priority this season, and added that the draw against Udinese was the right result.
Legendary Juventus goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833, believes that the most important objective for the team is to make their way into UEFA Champions League in 2012. The Lady Killers have missed out on European action for two consecutive years now after finishing
on the 7th spot for the past two seasons.
The Turin giants faced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 in their last Serie A fixture at Stadio Friuli and the match ended in a goalless draw. Juve now sit alongside the defending champions AC Milan with 34 points from their 16 league games. However, the Rossoneri lead the
rankings on goal difference.
Buffon was talking to the media after the game against the Zebrette, where he revealed that it was a fair result as both teams were evenly matched. The 33-year-old Italian international dismissed the talks of a Serie A win for the ongoing season and claimed
that a comeback in European competitions is the real target for the team.
The legendary goalkeeper was quoted by Corriere dello Sport saying:
"It was a beautiful game, very tactical and in the end a draw was the right result. We kept the unbeaten run and it is a fact that makes us proud, no one thought we would be able to achieve this. What is our goal for 2012? It is not the Scudetto, a place
in the Champions League."
Juve are keen to stay unbeaten in the league, as they have entered the winter break without any defeat. However, the top spot on the table was compromised after the stalemate against Udinese.
The Turin giants will return to Serie A action now on January 8, 2012, and will take on the bottom of the league outfit, Lecce.
