The Rossoneri thump the Gunners at San Siro thanks to a brace from Robinho and a goal each from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Prince-Boateng-c20792
A.C Milan cruised to a 4-0 win over Arsenal in the first-leg of the last 16 round of UEFA Champions League at San Siro on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
Kevin-Prince Boateng opened the scoring before a brace from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robinho-c31382 and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty sealed the misery for the Gunners. The tie looks all but over, as the Rossoneri take a mammoth lead to the second-leg.
Massimiliano Allegri handed starts to Boateng, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Nesta-c4735 recovered from injury but only to find a place on the bench.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 moved to his traditional centre-back position. Tomas Rosicky replaced Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain in the starting line-up.
The hosts started on the front foot, as attacking trio of Boateng, Robinho and Ibrahimovic exerted early pressure on the Londoners. The Rossoneri were dealt with an injury blow, as Seedorf had to be substituted after the veteran
picked up an injury. Emanuelson replaced the former Real Madrid star in the 12th minute.
The substitute almost made an immediate impact, as he combined beautifully with Ibrahimovic before blasting his shot wide of the goal.
Milan’s persistence paid off, as Boateng gave them a lead in the 16th minute. The former Tottenham Hotspur star brilliantly controlled a long pass from the right-flank before thumping an incredible volley off the inside
of the bar to make it 1-0 for the Italian Champions.
The Diavolo had their tails up after taking the lead, and came close to doubling their advantage few minutes later. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332 found himself in a lovely shooting position, but the midfielder’s rasping effort whisked inches
over the bar.
The Serie A leaders stamped their authority over the game, as the visitors struggled to test the Milan goalkeeper in the opening half-hour.
A second-goal looked inevitable for the Rossoneri, as they dominated lion’s share of possession. Ibrahimovic showed lovely piece of skill down the left-flank before laying a lovely angled ball in the centre for Robinho, who headed
in from close range to make it 2-0 for Milan.
Arsenal’s poor defending once again let them down, as the Italian Champions were all over the Gunners. To make matters worse for the North London side, defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742, picked up an injury and had to be substituted
by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779 on the brink of the half-time whistle.
The Serie A Champions did not relax after taking a double lead, as Ibrahimovic continued to torment the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 defence with his brilliance. The Swede showed lovely footwork before laying a lovely pass for Boateng, who smacked
his shot into the side nettings.
Antonini picked up the first yellow-card of the game few seconds before the half-time whistle, as Milan went into the break as clearly superior of the two sides.
