UEFA Champions League player ratings: Arsenal FC – Partizan Belgrade (Part 2)
Partizan Belgrade
Vladimir Stojkovic – 6
Stojkovic was solid throughout the game and did not deserve to be on the losing side. The former Wigan custodian could have done little to stop the rocket of penalty that Van Persie scored but could have done better on Walcott’s goal.
Stefan Savic – 5
Savic had a bad outing against a tricky Arshavin. The fact that the Russian was having an off night makes it even worse for young Savic.
Marko Jovanovic – 5.5
The Serbian International had a difficult outing against Arsenal front men but was unlucky to concede a penalty for a legitimate challenge. Jovanovic was unable to pick himself together after that.
Mladen Krstajic – 6
The 36 year old had a steady outing and put all the years of experience to good news against the likes of Arshavin and Chamakh. However, his legs failed to cope up with Gunners’ movement towards the end of the game.
Alexandre Lazevski – 6
Lazevski fought a fascinating duel with Nasri all night long and managed to keep an in-form Nasri quite for much of the game. However, the Serbian failed to cope with Walcott’s sizzling pace in the second half as Arsenal went for broke.
Sasa Ilic – 5.5
Much was expected of the club favourite but Ilic had an anonymous display against a superior Arsenal.
Radosav Petrovic – 5
Arsenal’s quick movement and sharp passing was too hot to handle for Petrovic who was constantly found chasing Gunner’s front men. To his credit however, Petrovic made sure no goals were scored from the centre of the park.
Stefan Babovic – 5
Babovic was supposed to be an attacking threat but the Serb was frequently required in defence. As a result, Babovic’s attacking contribution was non-existent in what was a fairly disappointing performance.
Medo – 6
Medo started the game on the wrong foot as he couldn’t come close to Gunner attackers. However, he slowly grew into the game and Arsenal attacks were rebuffed for much of the game.
Almami Moreira – 7
The Mercurial winger had an impressive outing against Arsenal and made the goal for Cleo in what was an impressive outing. His midfielders let him down as he could have done some real damage with better service from his teammates.
Cleo – 8
The Brazilian has been the standout performer for his team for much of the season and tonight was no different. His big-game calibre was on show yet again as he scored the opener for Serbian outfit. Liverpool FC are being linked with the forward and he did his Premier League chances no harm with this outing.
Substitutes:
Aleksandar Davidov – 5.5
Was brought on in the second half but failed to keep a rampant Arsenal team under shackles.
Darko Brasanac – 5
Darko Brasanac was a late substitute with the result already sealed and he had little time to make an impact.
