Valery Karpin has motivated his side to win the remaining matches of the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign in order to secure a European spot.
Spartak Moscow have exceeded expectations this year and are still in the mix to secure a UEFA Champions League spot this season, with just four league games left to play after a fabulous third league round.
The Myaso boosted their hopes of a place in the next season’s Champions League with a 2-0 win in the latest round of league action against Rubin Kazan at Luzhniki stadium, a day after the second-placed CSKA Moscow dropped points
against Zenit St. Petersburg.
As a result, Spartak have climbed up the league table, two points clear of the third-placed Dynamo Moscow and a massive 12 points behind the table-toppers.
Valery Karpin, whose side host Anzhi Makhachkala on Sunday, reckons that it would be great news for the people associated with the Moscow-based club should they qualify for a European place.
Speaking on the injury concerns, Karpin revealed that he has a wide range of players to choose from apart from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diniyar-Bilyaletdinov-c11318, who has still not returned to full training following a muscle injury.
Karpin has been impressed by the St. Petersburg club this season and lavished praise on Luciano Spalletti’s side, admitting that they are the favourites to retain the league title this season.
While expressing on the Russian top division this season, Karpin admitted that it has been a difficult season as compared to the last one and admitted that the level of Russian championship is getting better.
“The third league round has been beneficial for us. Nobody had though that Spartak will outrun the Koni in the race for the second-place. CSKA are experiencing a bad period. The fight for places will go down to the last match because
the top-eight teams have little point margin between them.” The Intertoto Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 suggest that Karpin is set to leave the Luzhniki stadium in summer. However, Karpin told the media that he will make a decision at the end of the season.
