The director of the governing body insists that the pitch conditions at the stadium were acceptable, and there is nothing more the hosts can do given the recurring problem.
UEFA’s director of competition has assured AC Milan against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 complains about the stadium stating that the visitors have no valid reason to complain.
The first-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals tie between the Rossoneri and the Catalonians ended in a 0-0 stalemate. The match was played at the Diavolo’s home turf and the Spanish side has recently lodged an official complain claiming that
the state of the pitch was sub-standard. Pep Guardiola also appeared on the media recently to suggest that the inadequate conditions could be a deliberate attempt to hinder the visitor’s fluent playing style.
The director of competition insisted that the deteriorating pitch is a recurring problem at the club, and there is not much Inter Milan and AC Milan can do to help it. The representative pointed out that the Milan outfits make the best arrangements possible
to get around the micro-climate problems, but insisted that inevitably some games have to be played in conditions short of ideal. He admitted that the conditions in the match were not perfect, but insisted that they were still adequate playing conditions,
and Barcelona have little weight to their complain.
While talking to RadioCalciomercato.it., Giorgio Marchetti said:
“The pitch in Milan is a recurring problem of the microclimate inside that stadium and there is nothing more the two clubs can do. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 and Milan try to get through the problem by re-laying the turf, but many games are consequently played in less than ideal
conditions. Having said that, the Stadio Meazza playing surface was acceptable.”
The executive of the European body insisted that the problems of the stadium are a commonly known fact all around, and it is impossible to solve the problem in a jiffy. He told that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adriano-c3773 Galliani spoke about a new type of surface, but he insisted that
the matter is pending and out of his jurisdiction. He insisted that it was but natural that the pitch will break-up, the more games are played at the stadium.
The San Siro pitch has been a constant source of problem for the visitors and hosts alike, ever since the venue was given a roof for the 1990 World Cup. The covering of the stadium hinders the air from circulating adequately around the stadium, and that
stops the grass from growing naturally at the turf. Inter Milan and AC Milan incur substantial expenses to imports, and re-lay a new turf from Holland every few weeks.
