UEFA vice-president Sener Erzik lashes out at Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho – UCL news
UEFA vice-president, Sener Erzik, has lashed out at Real Madrid’s coach Jose Mourinho in the wake of criticism that UEFA received from the Portuguese. Mourinho was furious at his team’s loss to arch-rivals Barcelona during the first leg of their Champions
League semi-final and held UEFA responsible for the debacle.
After the match, former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan tactician revealed that Barcelona get undue favours as they have direct contact with UNICEF, Barcelona’s shirt sponsor. Vice-president Erzik took note of those comments and brought the Portuguese back to earth with his
breathtaking comments.
“Mourinho finally found the guilty one for Madrid's loss. I didn't even know that I was such a great player that I could beat his team, I had links with UNICEF long before Mourinho even knew what football is. I don't have any relation with UNICEF at the
moment, but it wouldn't be a problem even if I did,” Erzik added in response to Mourinho’s useless allegations.
Mourinho further accused Barcelona of having direct contacts inside UEFA due to which they keep on winning and getting undue favours from both the referees and the federation. He also insisted that a manager like Josep Guardiola can only win with some help
otherwise he doesn’t have that capability to win everything with utmost ease.
“Mourinho is clearly off the pace here. I remember the famous film 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly'. Perhaps it's time for Mourinho to play the good guy for a while. He's already played the other two roles,” he concluded.
The Portuguese has had a troublesome campaign in terms of his relations with Los Blancos General Director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager.
During the semi-final’s first leg, Mourinho lost his temper after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Barcelona’s Daniel Alves. The Portuguese tactician, as a result, was sent-off from the touch line after pointing fingers and abusing
the referee.
Real Madrid eventually lost the race to Wembley after going down 3-1 on aggregate at the hands of their fierce rivals.
