UFC 141 features Anthony Njokuani vs. Danny Castillo in lightweight division – Preview: UFC 141
The most anticipated event hosted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), UFC 141, will be held on December 30, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event is perhaps the most talked about show as many of the big names in UFC will be taking part in the hunt to gain victories. One of the fights booked for the preliminary card is the lightweight bout between Nigerian mixed martial art (MMA) fighter
Anthony Njokuani and American MMA fighter Danny Castillo. This brawl will be one of the televised matches which will keep UFC and MMA hooked to their television screens.
Both fighters have lost their recent fights and need a win to get their careers back on the right track. Castillo has lost one out of the last of his five fights, he will be focused for a win to get his second straight win.
On the other hand, Njokuani has lost three of his last fights. The Nigerian MMA fighter must win the fight otherwise the UFC officials might think of releasing him from the promotion.
He made his UFC debut in March 2011 and has contested in two fights in which he came out victories in only a single one, making him a vulnerable target for UFC matchmakers and management. Like Njokuani, Castillo has also recently made his UFC debut. He had
his first fight in March 2011 against Joe Stevenson at UFC Live event and has won two of his three fights with UFC.
Both have experienced what it is like to fight in the UFC, now they will use their skills and talent to score a win. They have been professional MMA fighters for many years as Njokuani made his MMA debut in May 2003 and Castillo entered the combat sport
in November 2007. Their striking and takedowns will be of utmost importance when looking at who might win the match. While talking about strikes, Njokuani has the upper hand for he has a seventy percent success rate with his strikes and Castillo has a thirty-three
percent win rate.
Castillo must keep a distance from Njokuani for the Nigerian fighter can attack when he is least expected. Njokuani will also fight cautiously as Castillo has a sixty-seven percent rate for taking down his opponents. Both fighters will be tough to beat
but the one who gives the first strike may get a lead and come out victorious.
