UFC 141 will feature Matt Riddle against Luis Ramos in the welterweight category – UFC News
The welterweight bout at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 141 is set between American mixed martial art (MMA) fighter Matt Riddle and Brazilian MMA fighter Luis Ramos. Their bout is set to take place when UFC 141 is held on December 30, 2011 in Las Vegas. For the bout, both fighters had verbally agreed in November 2011. The UFC officials had also later informed and confirmed the news that this bout has been officially signed and would be held according to plans.
For Ramos, the 30-year-old MMA fighter, his UFC debut was not what he had thought to be. He faced compatriot Erick Silva at UFC 134 in August 2011 and lost as soon as the bout began. Silva pounded Ramos with his punches and defeated Ramos forty-seconds in the first round of the fight. For Ramos, his second bout at UFC would be the UFC 141 bout against Riddle. The debut loss for Ramos would be haunting him and the only remedy would be a win over Riddle.
His opponent, the 25-year-old Riddle, on the other hand, would also be seeking a win at UFC 141. He stepped into the UFC ring ever since he made his MMA debut in June 2008 and has been with the promotion since. He has won five bouts and lost three. For Riddle, his MMA career in the UFC has been in doldrums for he has been defeated in the last two fights through a unanimous decision.
He would also have given a sigh of relief for he would be looking at UFC 141 to get a win and come on the right path in his career. Riddle would also focus only on winning his bout for he was defeated by the UFC debutant, Lance Benoist, at UFC Fight Night 25 in September 2011. The welterweight bout at UFC 141 would be an important one for both the fighters. When the two fighters would enter into UFC 141, they would get a huge leverage in their careers if they win this bout. After the UFC officials had confirmed the bout in November, MMA and UFC fans were eager to watch the bout as they two fighters in discussion are capable of creating an aggressive environment in the UFC octagon ring.
