UFC 145 to be held in Australia; the octagon makes its third visit to Sydney – UFC News
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is always on the go when it comes to their live and pay-per-view events. The UFC holds its live events outside America and it has brought them a considerable amount of revenue with a huge
target market as mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are everywhere in the world. Recently a news emerged that UFC will be heading to the southern hemisphere. According to UFC officials, the UFC octagon ring will be set up in Australia. The reports from UFC officials
indicate that the UFC 145 event will be held in Australia at the Allphones Arena on March 4, 2012.
For UFC, the Australians have been a great market for UFC and for its bouts. If things go according to plan, then UFC would be going to Australia for a third time. The UFC fighters have taken over Australia in the past with two
events. The UFC 110 event was held at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia in February 2010 where the main card heavyweight bout was between Brazilian MMA fighter Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and American MMA fighter Cain Velasquez.
The American won the bout through a knockout in the first round. The second time that UFC made its way to Australia was in February 2011. This time it was the UFC 127 event, which was held again in the Acer Arena. Both these events,
UFC 110 and UFC 127 were sold out events and were a hug success. The average attendees in both the events were nearly eighteen thousand. The UFC management expects that the same kind of turnout would be there when UFC 145 takes places in 2012.
Until now, two bouts are in the pipeline for UFC 145. According to inside reports, UFC 145 on March 4, 2012 will feature Danish MMA fighter Martin Kampmann take on Brazilian MMA fighter Thiago Alves. The other fight for the event
will be between American fighters Travis Browne and Roy Nelson.
UFC and MMA fans are eagerly waiting for UFC 145, which will be a straight out slugfest. The UFC officials will announce more bouts for UFC 145 in the coming months. At UFC 110, MMA and UFC fans were enthralled to witness Ryan
Bader win by knockout against Keith Jardine. At UFC 127, Michael Bisping won his bout through knockout against Jorge Rivera. UFC 145 is also expected to be a great event that will certainly keep the UFC fans on the edge of their seats.
