  1. I'll just do the main card.

Marcus Aurelio vs. Tyson Griffin. Tyson Griffin I think is one of the best Lightweights in the UFC. I'm picking him to win by TKO (striking) in the second round.

Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle. This one will suprise people but I am going to pick Chris Lytle. Lytle has a great submission game and I think he is going to catch Koscheck. Josh is going to come out too aggresive and will get caught in an arm bar in the first round.

Joe Stevenson vs. Gleison Tibau. Gleison has good defense skills and but I see Stevenson taking this fight to the ground frequently and keeping it there. Stevenson wins by unanimous decision.

Patrick Cote vs. Ricardo Almeida. The Boxer vs. The Blackbelt. I have always said that strikers are the most over rated types of fighters in MMA and I think this is no different. I see Almeida wearing down Cote and pulling out a split decision victory over Cote.

Rampage Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin. Jackson is going to be the highly favored fighter in this fight. If he catches Griffin with a clean strike it is going to be all done; I don't care how good Griffins jaw is. But if this fight gets into the 4th and 5th round I could see Griffin winning because of his conditioning. But lets be honest, it probably won't get that far. I got Jackson winning by KO early in the second round.

  2. RAMPAGE baby!!

  3. Quinton Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin - Rampage

Ricardo Almeida vs. Patrick Cote - Cote

Joe Stevenson vs. Gleison Tibau - Stevenson

Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Lytle - Koscheck

Marcus Aurelio vs. Tyson Griffin - Griffen

    PRELIMINARY CARD

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Justin McCully - Gonzaga

Jorge Gurgel vs. Cole Miller - Miller

Melvin Guillard vs. Dennis Siver - Guillard

Justin Bucholz vs. Corey Hill - Hill

  4. do not count Griffin out! i actually think he just may win it.

  5. I've gotta say that when these two coaches from the Ultimate Fighter step into the ring on Saturday the 5th, there is going to be a lot of blood on the floor of the Octagon when this one is finished.

My take on the fight is that Griffin is the obvious underdog however he has a decent chance of winning the championship title here. If he can manage to take Rampage down to the mat, he can dominate. However if he can't take Jackson down, 'Run Forrest, Run!' comes to mind - He's going to have stay out of the way of his opponents thunderous blows and his famous match ending power slams into the canvass.

I believe that Forrest Griffin is being underestimated with the odds set for him at +200. If Griffin can do what I outlined above, he's got a shot.

  6. this is to respond to the person who said Lytle over koscheck. I like Lytle as a fighter way better then Koscheck, but as a better Lytle over Koscheck will never happen. There is a couple things to look to understand why.

    1. Hughes vs Lytle, Koscheck may not be as good of as a finisher as Hughes was in his prime, but he is as good of a wrestler. Lytle got put on his back and held there for 5 rounds against Hughes and could not do anything. The same thing will happen here.

    2. Can Koscheck avoid submissions on top? Yes, look at what he did to Hazelett who has much better submission skills then Lytle. Koscheck is only beaten by better wrestlers. 3. Lytle looses to better ground games, look at his fight with Serra.

37-17 total record. On last event 7 for 7 picks right!

I am also going to make another comment to Brooke S, I too am taking Griffin as the underdog for the upset mostly because the odds do not pay off on Rampage. The problem with your analysis is not with Griffin as he has a good ground game, but with Jackson, who does not get beaten by submission. If you look at Jackson's past fights, when he faces people with better submission games than Griffin he beats them. So, who does Rampage get beaten by? He gets beaten by more technical strikers. For Example, Shogun and Silva. The question is, can Griffin rise to the moment and out strike Rampage? In the first three rounds the answer is no, but as time goes on in the match it will be better for Griffin. If Rampage wins, it will be by decision. If Griffin wins, it will be by having a huge heart.
