Question:

UFC 87 - Meet the fighters?

Me and my brother have tickets to UFC 87 @ the Target Center in Minneapolis. We have been long time UFC fans and living in the upper midwest this is our first shot at getting to go see a UFC event live. So we want to make the absolute most out of the weekend, we have some info on the public weigh-ins and are going to try to get into that. But what I need some help on is what else there is to do there, is there a way to meet the fighters after the weigh-ins if you are just a regular ticket holder? Maybe a way to meet fighters at another point, or maybe if anyone knows of something going on with the fighters before/after UFC in any way shape or form. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance =)

  1. after the weigh ins there is usually an area where there r a few fighters signing photos and things behind some tables.

yo but good luck. i went to UFC 66 last year. best time of my life!

  2. Anyone know the time and place for the weigh-ins?

  3. Weigh in times can be found on UFC.com ... I believe they are outside the Target Center on Friday, August 8th from 3 to 5 central time.

You can go as early as 10am on Friday and get your picture taken with the ring girls and some fighters as well.

  4. I was at ufc 73 @ arco arena sacramento ca, i only had the $100 seats but upon leaving the upper deck section we were able stroll right down to the lower section unscathed by any security. I met urijah faber, eddie sanchez, joe rogan ,and got to stand beside "the natural" for a few moments!

I did not plan on doing that ,i just saw there was no one there to say don't go down there. my luck the fighters were totally willing to say hi to all!

That was some bad *** ****!!

Look at a map of your arena before you go, there might be easy ways to get to the lower section, and wait until the fights are over, lot of guys stick around after the fights and if they do catch you at least you allready watched the show!

    Chuck !!

    brock!

    good fights!

  5. well the weigh-ins are open to the public, so dont worry about what kind of ticket you have for the actual event... i would just recommend getting to the weigh-ins EXTREMELY early, then you'll have a chance to get close to the action and after the event the fighters usually sign some autographs and stuff so if your there early enough you'lll be one of the first there and your pretty guranteed to geet atleast a few autographs... then i would go to mmajunkie.com and bodogfight.com because those websites usually have good information as to if there is going to be a public fighter appearance of any kind, also check out UFC.com.... and as for after the fight, in places like Vegas there are usually club parties and what-not after the fights, im not quite sure what the fighters do in minneapolis but i would check around and see if there are any big clubs nearby, and if so, call and see if they have any reservations for any of the fighters....

hopefully some of this information helps!!!

  6. I'm attending also, hope to get some good pictures and autographs. I have a little inside help though, I train with (or under) Tamdan McCrory, who will murder Luke Cummo at 87. Our school is sending 2 students to the show (hotel/almost ringside tix/air fare) and I'm lucky enough to have been one of the 2. The after party should be a good source of laid back fighters willing to chit chat. Good luck!!

P.S. Joe Rogan is doing standup comedy at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minne the night before. Check it out.
