  1. they need to get fedor and kimbo, simple as that.

  2. The division is just going through some growing pains right now.  Frankly there are  just not enough top notch athletes at that weight doing MMA right now and I don't know why.  Seems like the smaller weight classes are loaded with talented guys and maybe a guy with heavyweight size and extraordinary athletic ability is just harder to come by.  Either way the sport is still growing and the best is probably still to come.

  3. It's not a laughing stock, but it is pretty bad.  They are losing more than they are bringing in.  I am not sure how they will fix it, but they need to do it soon.  Which is why I can't understand that the TUF show doesn't have a heavyweight tournament.  It doesn't make sense.

  4. They need to get the biggest names. Big Nog is the only top heavyweight they have. Fedor, Barnett, Sylvia, Arlovski, Bigfoot Silva, Cro Cop, and Alex Emelianenko all fight for other companies. Plus, Couture is in a legal mess with UFC. The heavyweight division in all of MMA is not the strongest division, but UFC's heavyweight division is sorry and it doesn't look like that will change.

  5. Nothing really. The HW division in all of MMA isn't really that solid anyways. So unless you have every single top HW in the world fighting for you, which is pretty much impossible, or you do a really great hype job and make people believe that you do *cough*EliteXC*cough* then your HW division isn't going to be all that great.

  6. Signing a big name or two would help, but it doesnt make much business sense to the UFC. Alot of the big names they could sign wouldnt pull a ton of weight in terms of PPV buys (sure Fedor would help, but it sounds like he's pretty demanding in terms of contract issues) so it doesnt make much sense for the UFC to sign them.

The UFC has a lot of young talent at HW, they just need to develop it. Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, and Shane Corwin are extremely quick, explosive and exciting, the UFC just needs to keep building these guys on the path to stardom. Corwin appears to be the best so far, so look for him to continue to devlop and make a large spalsh in the next few years.
