  1. from the camera angle I saw mazzigati was on the other side of the and didn't see the illegal eye poke. all he saw was a jab and big upper cut, then Johnson hitting the floor. so he called the fight. I don't think the referee should get be penalized for this. However I would like to see the athletic commission turn over turn it

  2. WTF? is absolutely the right question

  3. that fight pissed me off..Johnson should have won and Burns should have been disqualified!..that fight was a joke.

  4. yeah man i was like wtf is that

  5. i'm wondering the same thing!

  6. The ref stopped the fight because of a TKO, and after that determination has been made, it cannot be changed.  If Johnson went down, and when Burns backed off like he did, the ref would have been told by johnson what happened, then he would have taken a point or stopped the fight because it was a second offense for a poke.  Unfortunately for everyone, the decision and stoppage took place before the ref could figure out what really happened.

I agree it was BS, but in the ref's defense, he couldn't change the decision legally.

  7. I was so mad when I heard the decision. I thought for sure that Johnson would have gotten the win! He was winning the entire time and Burns kept repeatedly getting warned for eye poking... The judges should have kept that in mind when making their decision. Burns said he has broken his hand so many times so he strikes using his palm. When you hit with a palm you don't typically throw it with your hand straight out like he did. He wasn't palming, he was finger jabbing. I think he needs to practice throwing ACTUAL palms before thinking about fighting in another match. He made a lot of people angry and lost a lot of respect.
