UFC announces suspended names with Phil Davis barred for 45 days – UFC news
The management of Ultimate Fighting Championship has released the post UFC on Fox2 pay-per-view’s details according to which Phil Davis, the young 27-year-old UFC’s 6th best light heavyweight, has been suspended for 45 days due to medical reasons and to
deal with the injuries occurred during the January 8, 2012 bout.
According to details, UFC always, as its norm, publishes post bout details, which normally include the amount each fighter has earned or lost, and details of the injuries along with the suspensions based on them. At the moment, not much detail is known except
the fact that Phil and many other have been medically suspended for a particular time limit.
Phil Davis, the young lad, who was scheduled to take on the huge Rashad Evans got a brutal lesson from the latter. The bout which ended in a unanimous decision in favour of Evans did prove that Phil, the Mr. Wonderful, is resilient but Evans threw more punches
and takedowns as compared to Phil. Due to this emphatic performance, Evans grabbed an impressive win over the young lad.
Evans was able to keep his word and really showed the whole world that the bout with Phil was definitely a bout between a man and a boy. UFC in its publication also revealed the names of other men who got medical suspensions. The names include Chris Weidman,
John Olav-Einemo, Nik Lentz, George Roop, Joey Beltran, Dustin Jacoby, and Chris Camozzi.
According to the details Phil is suspended for 45 days and will not be allowed to sign a contract in the first 30 days. Similarly Nik Lentz, George Roop, and Dustin Jacoby are also suspended for the same 45 days with no-contract signing stipulation in the
first 30 days.
Chris Weidman, John Olav-Einemo, and Chris Camozzi, on the other hand have been suspended for 30 days with a non allowance to sign a contract in the first 21 days of suspension. Joey Beltran is the only brawler who has been suspended for two months and
is ordered to avoid any contract signing till the end of first 45 days of suspension. The details of the injuries on which basis the suspensions have been decided are not known at the moment.
