I guess getting your life together only takes about one month. Jesse Taylor is rumored to fight at ufc fight night 14 against C.B. Dolloway. So do you think dana white was to easy on him?

  1. This is the first I've heard of this. If true, I'm sure it's on a probationary basis. Also remember that he didn't get a shot at the 6 figure contract. That's a pretty heavy punishment. To Taylor that might as well been taking away a title shot. Now he will have to get into the UFC the hard way. No guaranteed contracts, no guaranteed fights, and most importantly no guaranteed money.  I wish him the best of luck, and, not unlike anyone else who has made a horrible mistake in their life, the knowledge that this is his second and probably last chance.

To answer the question, "was Dana White easy on Taylor?" I think not. He took away a shot at guaranteed money and a UFC contract. Could he have been tougher? Of course. Would it have made a bigger point to Taylor? Most likely not. If he doesn't straighten up now, there was no helping him anyway.  It's one and done for Taylor from here on out and he knows it.

  2. At the end of the day, Dana White is a business man. He realizes that Jesse Taylor is a problem child and has the potential to s***w up in a big way again. But Taylor is not only a very talented fighter, but he is also very popular amongst fans.

Fighters who make Dana White money through TV ratings and PPV buys will get it easier than fighters who just are not popular. That is why Lyoto Machida probably has at least one more fight he has to win before he gets a title shot even though he is, right now, way ahead of most of the Light Heavyweights. Chuck Liddell probably could lose 4 or 5 fights in a row and not be released simply because he is the most popular fighter in the UFC.

So did Dana White take it too easy on Taylor? Probably. But everyone is going to win in the end, Taylor gets to fight, Dana gets another popular fighter, and we get another talented fighter. So I don't have a problem with it.

  3. If this is true-this would make for a great fight.  CB will have his way with Jesse.  The doberman over money man.  I think it was enough punishment to pull him out of the finale.  Jesse's a grown man, I'm sure the guy learned his lesson.  I take back what I said before (about him never fighting again)-because this fight would be a slobber knocker

  4. Yes, Not that I think what he did was THAT bad and I understand that the kid has some problems, but when Dana White said that when security personel tried to control him he yelled out do you know who I am, im a UFC fighter, I thought he would be out for a while. Claiming that when 1. it wasnt fully true yet and 2. being a UFC fighter doesnt give you the right to be a drunken idiot in Vegas and 3. throwing the UFC name around when your being a beligerent drunken idiot in public is not only bad for the UFC but MMA as a whole, I thought Dana White would have him out for a while.

Also I thought the fact that he is boring as a fighter wasnt going to help his case either.

  5. Its been over 4 months.  THE SHOW ISN'T LIVE.  The ultimate fighter is finished taping a month before the first episode airs.  Only the finale is live DIDNT U NOTICE HOW DIFFERENT EVERYBODY LOOKED????  Its been almost 6 months since he did that and no I dont think Dana was to easy on him.  HE DIDNT HURT ANYBODY and he lost his chance at a 6 figure contract.  he is probably making $5,000 a fight just like the rest of the no name guys in UFC.

  6. I think White was too hard on him.  He should have let him fight on the condition of going to rehab or alcohol counseling. He also could have done some sort of community service.  He was definitely the best fighter in the house - I think he would have beaten Amir or CB.
