UFC fighters not happy with Rousey being the champion – UFC News
While most UFC fighters are happy with women’s mixed martial arts being introduced in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, not all of them are happy with Rousey being awarded the bantamweight title.
Rousey, who will be making her UFC debut next year, was a bantamweight titleholder for Strikeforce.
“I think it's great that women's mixed martial arts is getting into the UFC, but I think Ronda Rousey should have definitely fought for the title first. Made her a number one contender against somebody else. In every other division guys have had to fight
for that belt. I think it makes them look bad by going out and giving her the belt. She'll win it and she'll earn it, I guess. Either way she'll have it at the end, I guess it doesn't matter,” was the opinion of fighters like Dan Hardy, Brian Ebersole, Anthony
Perosh and Kyle Noke.
For now, Rousey stands as an unbeaten fighter who defeats her opponent with an armbar in the very first round. She has maintained her legacy, even though she has fought some of the most ambitious fighters in the industry.
For now, Rousey is bringing her talents to the UFC, in order to make sure women’s mixed martial arts stays in the UFC for good.
It should be noted here that Rousey has become a symbol for women’s mixed martial arts today. President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White has always been a fan of Rousey, appreciating her at several occasions.
Rousey has iterated her love for mixed martial arts time and again. It is time for her to give it a shot in the UFC. Probably, she will take WMMA to the next level, as most women mixed martial artists are already hoping. If Rousey makes it successful, things
will get better for time.
Dana White has already promised fans that 2013 would be a great year for MMA, including WMMA and super-fights in the UFC. If Rousey makes it a good show, there are possibilities of more such fights in the future for the UFC. If not then it might be in jeopardy.
