  1. Kit - You'll need to be versed in Muay Thia, BJJ and wrestling in order to be successful. If you are truly interested, it takes a long time and a lot of hard work to be properly prepared.

  2. yes there is a mma show on cbs and they have woman fight there was also an oxygen reality show that was about woman mauy thai fighters

  3. your first question should be "what danger is there to a females body participating in full contact martial arts"

yes there is UFC for women.   Training is just as long as guys cause most of it is mental and repetition is the key.  You should know the martial arts that you physically adapt well into.  Look at submission fighting and stand up fighting.  But the clinch is the main factor.  If your old enough to ask this question you are old enough to start somewhere.

  4. UFC is to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as NFL is to football.  You can most definitely fight MMA, though, just not in the UFC (no women in that).  Almost everywhere you have to be 18 to fight competitively.  You can start training at any age, though...become proficient in ground fighting and stand-up.  You can go to submission wrestling or other tournaments to test your skills out!  Find a school that has a good instructor and don't base it so much on the art, however I would recommend looking into Muay Thai for your stand-up and Jujitsu for your ground game.  If you are planning on doing it as a hobby, 2 or 3 times a week is good to train.  If you plan on making it a career you should plan on training full-time.  Everyone is different as far as how many months/years you need to train before you are ready for a fight.  Also, check out fightergirls.net for more info about female MMA and also how to find some "female friendly" schools.  Good luck!

  5. UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is an organization.. MMA (mixed martial arts) is the sport.

Women aren't allowed in UFC (yet?).

Women are allowed to train in MMA though. It is hard to find an organization that has women MMA competitions though.

Just ask around your area to see if there are fighting events that can include women.

In most places, you have to be 18 to compete, though some places allow 16 and 17 year-olds with parent consent (my brother started competing the day before he turned 17).

But you can start training in MMA at any age.

You should learn whatever martial arts you want to, I guess. Definitely take up jiu jitsu and muay thai. Spar as often as possible.

    Good luck.
