On January 20th, 2012, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will host its debut show on FX, named UFC on FX. It will be an action packed event as many bouts for the night have been announced. One of the stints is
going to be for the lightweight division, in which the American mixed martial art (MMA) fighters, Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller, will lock hands inside the UFC octagon fighting ring.
The UFC officials announced the bout in late November and the two fighters will try to entertain the crowd in attendance with some high pounding and exhilarating action. The 28-year-old Guillard was running on a five bout winning
streak but it eventually ended when Joe Lauzon defeated him at UFC 136 in October 2011.
In his MMA career, which began from November 2002, he has won twenty-nine encounters with nine losses and two fights ending in a draw. For him, his next clash at UFC on FX will be a breath of fresh air, as he will focus on a win
to resume his winning run in his MMA career. On the other hand, Miller was also enjoying a winning streak of seven bouts but lost to Benson Henderson at UFC Live event in August 2011.
The winning streaks of both fighters ended with crushing defeats coming in 2011. According to the reports, the two fighters are looking for a win in January so they can get a top contenders spot for the lightweight championship
in the future. Miller has won twenty fights in his career and has lost only three, whereas Guillard has won nine more bouts than him, while suffering losses on nine occurrences also.
It is also speculated that the upcoming fight between the two gladiators at the UFC on FX will be one of the most significant bouts of their careers. Although they have faced defeats after good performances in their respective
careers, the two men have proved their worth in the lightweight division. If they manage to score a win at UFC on FX, chances of earning a title shot for them will increase to a great deal.
When the UFC formally announced and later confirmed the clash between Guillard and Miller in November 2011, it was the news everyone was waiting to hear. With the fight only a month away, UFC fans have become restless and cannot
wait to witness the lightweight bout which can be an aggressive one.
