  1. UFC.  You could say it already is bigger than boxing!  They have better guys running their advertising, they have bigger names in the weight divisions.  And in this day and age, name recognition is everything!

  2. I totally agree with Keith L.  A good boxing match has lots of ebbs and flows to it.  A good ufc fight is usually over soon.  And once a guy is hurt, it is usually over.  With boxing, the hurt fighter can make a comeback.  Look at some great fights: Castillo-Corrales I, Gatti-Ward (all 3), Tyson-Douglas, Marciano-Walcott.  In each fight, someone had to get off the canvas and survive a barrage from the opponent.  Most ufc fights would have been over!!!

And when the ufc fights go to the ground = BORING!!!!!!!

I will take a good boxing match over a ufc fight any day of the week.  And if you disagree, go watch the Cotto-Margarito fight from a few weeks ago and tell me a ufc fight that was better!

  3. Boxing is heads and sholuders better then UFc. You wil rarely see a good UFC thats long (the good ones all end within minutes) and also UFC gets boring when your watching two guys worm on the ground for 3 minutes.

  4. what the f*ck is ufc?!!!?!?!!

  5. Let me know when your UFC guys make half the money good boxers make.

  6. idk dude i like both if i had to pick id say mma bc mma has boxing in it

  7. UFC is doing big things and is very exciting but boxing has always been the dominant fighting sport and it is way more money in boxing than UFC Floyd might get like 30 million a fight while somebody like Rampage Jackson might get like 3 million

  8. UFC

  9. Well U.F.C or BOXING.... 1ST ITS f**k ALL LIKE THE SAME SPORT. STUPID PEOPLE THINK ITS THE SAME

WELL US FOOTBALL AND FOOTBALL NO IT DONT WORK....DOES IT MATTER WHO?

IF SO THEN HERE WE GO.

Well U.F.C is big in the USA  BOXING is not as it was but there has been a good year for boxing so far.... So  how do we find out?  Who had the better P.P.V .Sales ?

This what i think BOXING is much bigger than U.F.C as the U.F.C.is big in the USA and not around the world they do have BOXING around the rest of the world as its not about the USA BOXING is bigger than the USA  ASIA  EUROP. MEXICO AFRICA SOUTH ARM... BOXING is as big as its ever been..So do you think K F C or what they call it will be big as boxing this year?????  thing again BUCK.......

    Think next time stupid questions

  10. UFC....it's coming up and making a name.

  11. It's hard to tell right now.

Boxing had a good year so far, and will continue to have a good year with all the future fights planned.  UFC on the other hand, had some great cards, but there were also a bunch of boring ones as well.

In my opinion, Boxing had one of it's best years, and did better than UFC for 2008.

However, 2009 is still hazy because there are no set match-ups to look forward too yet, as there is no set contracted schedules.

Boxing had great matches in 2008 that made the elite fighters, bigger names, but I'm not sure if that's enough to make it stronger than UFC for 2009.

One thing's for sure, UFC have been great at marketing and advertising their sport.  Boxing has been having problems with this for years.  The reason being it's ongoing corruption.  As corrupt as UFC is, at least it's within their own organization.  Boxing on the other hand is corrupt through it's different promoters, sanctioning bodies, television stations, etc.

While UFC has mainly to deal with UFC, Spike, and Versus; Boxing has to deal with Top Rank, Golden Boy, Dino Duva, Don King, Gary Shaw, Lou DiBella, HBO, Showtime, Versus, ESPN, WBC, WBA, IBF... the list goes on.

Boxing has always been a great sport.  But with all the corruption going on, a lot of great possible fights end up not being made, and because of the fact HBO and Showtime require subscription service while Spike is offered as standard cable, the big time fighters from boxing is more concealed to the public than the big time fighters in UFC.

Boxing is a huge sport that has been shady for decades.  UFC is a growing sport that gets bigger through its marketing.
