apparently the UFC wants to counter Afflictions PPV on July 19. theres a rumored main event with wanderlei silva fighting brandon vera.

ok now lets be honest. i dont think that people (or at least i wouldnt) will take vera vs silva over fedor vs sylvia. seriously, we're finally going to see the #1 heavyweight face some decent competition again and shut up all the haters and for me a silva v vera just doesnt match up to emelianenko v sylvia

  1. good luck finding enough fans willing to pay 40 to see Fedor when their's a free card.

Pretty much all casual fans have no idea who Fedor or even Affliction is.

  2. Its Anderson Silva vs James Irvin and btw its free. I'll watch the

spike event live and watch the affliction fights the next day on

youtube. Silva vs Irvin at LHW has been confiemed for July 19

  3. What;s the question?

  4. Good try by the UFC. They might take the causal MMA fans but no way are they going to take the Hardcore fans from watching the Affliction show. The Affliction card is stacked from head to toe and the UFC knows this.

  5. You gotta keep in mind that the Affliction event is a pay-per-view event. Which means $40 a pop. Besides, Wanderlei Silva vs. Vera is a pretty good match up especially for a free promotion. It 's a good strategy for the UFC to take in order to attempt to stop the new kid on the block.

Doesn't matter for me though, me and my friends got tickets so I'ma DVR the Spike event and watch Affliction live...

  6. i have two opinions, affliction is taking the ufc's best of the worst. They are taking poeple who are loosing. But also the UFC needs to give affliction a chance. thats messed up. they are actually holding MMA back, buy not letting it grow. there all about money and dont really care about the sport. its buisness i know. but how can mma grow if no one can compete
