UFC will travel around the world in 2012; UFC President Dana White targets Japan – MMA News
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has unveiled their travel plans for next year. The President of UFC, Dana White, has been in the process of creating such a plan with his team management and it seems that finally he will
take his company and fighters to all around the world.
The year 2012 will become UFC’s busiest and most hectic year in its eighteen-year history. Ever since the UFC was founded in November 1993, fights took place each year but they were either contested in North America, South America
or in Japan. In the year 2012, the UFC will be going to many countries to host its events.
White also hinted that there could be multiple shows running from various cities of countries, something that would give UFC a completely new dimension to capture their market and to keep their loyal viewer s glued to the screens
and keep them coming in the fighting arena.
UFC will be airing shows from Australia, Sweden, Japan and Brazil. Under the leadership of Dana White and his partners in UFC, the company has taken a bold step, which will be initiated in 2012. They will be hosting events in
Japan, something they have not done much in the past.
However, White should have done his homework before scheduling a UFC event in Japan. The East Asian nation is the birth country of many forms and techniques used in martial arts has been a nation where various forms of sport have
been fan favorites for years. UFC would be taking a risk by entering into the Japanese market for they would have to face a well-established combat sports market that is the most dominant feature in Japan and its culture.
In Japan, the Saitama Super Arena will be the venue from where UFC will air its pay-per-view event. UFC has an array of Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters including Takeya Mizugaki, Hatsu Hioki, Yushin Okami and Yoshihiro
Akiyama. These MMA fighters will certainly be the highlight for UFC when they go to Japan, for these Japanese fighters would certainly attract the Japanese MMA enthusiasts and in return, UFC will get a decent market base.
