Question:

UFO and Mystery lights in Texas - What do you think?

Several sightings only a few days ago of a large object in Texas that flew fast and low - tailed by military jets and had lights and was larger than stealth bombers.

This was reportedly 1/2 a mile wide, and about a mile long! - see links-

  1. Government or privately owned aircrafts, or a lot of delusional people. I don't believe in aliens. No doubt it was a UFO, though, since UFO stands for Unknown Flying Object. Definitely flying, definitely unknown and definitely an object. But not aliens, since they do not exist.

  2. I think they saw something, what idk

  3. It is utterly impossible to judge size or speed at a distance unless you are familiar with the object you are witnessing  because there is no frame of reference.  The darker it is the worse off you are.

As with many other UFO sightings, the jury is out.  Perhaps it is extra-terrestrial in nature.  Perhaps there's a rational explanation.

  4. Like above, a couple days on the jug and I don't see such things,

But I like my women better,

  5. Yeah...I live in Texas.  We get a little carried away with the beer every once in a while.

They saw pterodactyls here a few years ago.

  6. I often wonder why investigators don't calmly explain the need for and then proceed to get both sworn statements and polygraph tests from all the eye witnesses.

I am constantly amazed by the psuedoskeptics on YA. Apparently all psuedoskeptics have cameras on their persons 24 hours a day just in case they see something they don't want to be real so they can photograph it.

Also, I have learned via an answer to this question that aliens aren't real.

Unfortunately, unlike the all knowing YA psuedoskeptics all I have to work with is science and it's methods so I can't dismiss (nor can I provide strong evidence for) the existence of aliens.

UFO research is very problematic because the US government frequently lies (this has been established in civil courts with investigators Freedom of Information Request law suits numerous times). So, we have no way of knowing if fighters were in the air or not (im sure the psuedoskeptics use there all knowing power to know for sure they weren't there, I suppose having strong religious convictions helps them). So, if the people were not lying then they saw something. It would be best to eliminate normal explanations first but when the military doesn't provide that information then it's more difficult.

I think it will forever remain an UFO.

  7. it could be anything.

people claim to see ufos all the time.

my mom used to live near this field where the gov. flew things, and they all thought they were ufos.

    but idk

  8. There are really only two feasible explanations:

    EITHER:

    (i) Aliens are dumb; even though they were smart enough to travel across hundreds of thousands of miles of space without being detected, they forgot to hide when they got to Earth.

    OR:

(ii) People are dumb, and misinterpreted something they saw (perhaps a military research project?), immediately assuming it must be aliens!

    You decide!

  10. Mr.P Thanks for that good newspaper link. So what do we do if we see a UFO?? Just go whistling merrily on our way and not tell anyone? For sure , no one would believe ME! I'm surprised they haven't landed in my back yard...just because they know that no one would believe me. Well..at least I have the Paranormal Section to go to on here for support ! I KNOW ya'll would believe me!! Right? Right???? Where IS  EVERYBODY??!! lol

  11. The people that claimed they all saw it, yet no one took the pictures. Strange isn't it?

  12. The story gets better every day.  But that's the nature of UFO flaps and the people who fuel them.  In about a week, we'll be hearing from people who say they (or their cattle) were abducted.  The book will come out sometime around August.  People will demand disclosure from the military in the meantime.  They will be told, calmly and rationally that there was no space ship and no chase.  People will be up in arms about another government cover-up.

Edit: Hey, Thin: Thousands of ordinary pedestrians have been seeing these things, (and even going for rides on them) for 60 years.  The aliens are only making themselves invisible to legitimate scientific organizations, universities, military systems, governments, and skeptics, in general.

  13. I think this is another nonsense story that belongs in such erstwhile publications as the National Enquirer.
