Yes, you can see one.  

To see a UFO, all you have to do is see something in the sky that you don't know what it is.  That's all it takes for an object to be a UFO.  

Equipment needed:  eyes (your own) and a general lack of knowledge about what's up there in the sky.  

That's not meant to be a slam, it just means that most people don't know what the night sky looks like, because they don't get out and observe it regularly.  And most people aren't familiar with all the regular objects that are up there, stuff that can look kinda weird if you're not expecting to see it or if you see it under unusual weather or lighting conditions.
