  1. I would ask you if your new employer knows if you still have the other job.  If he/she doesn't it would be wise of you to inform them that you have the other job and are giving your notice.  They might be able to work around the other schedule for you and still retain you as an employee.  Your mistake if you did not give proper notice at the other job.  It can be fixed.  You really don't want to burn any bridges at the other job because who know if you are ever going to need them as a reference for future jobs.  Give your notice in writing and keep a copy for yourself.  Quitting without notice is not good in any situation.  If you were a business owner and your employees left without notice how would you feel.  Also inform the job that you are leaving that you have found another job and that if they didn't need you anymore and had the shift covered would they be willing to release you.  A good manager will.  One that feels like you have stepped on their toes might ask you to work out your notice.  Give a least a one weeks notice, it is preferred to give two weeks but in your case one week might be sufficient for them. Good luck on your situation and I hope it works out.

  2. Just quit.  It's no big deal.

  3. Decide movieman, decide now.  If you already are reemployed, just quit the other one, so they can get someone else to replace your position.  The reference isn't needed.  Do it. I love you.
