UK - Help required with tv, digital dvd/vhs combi and satnav. Please see below.?

I just cannot link up my tv, my sky box and my digital dvd/vhs combi. At the moment the only way I can record anything is by having the tv switched on all the time. If I turn off the screen then the recorder records a blank screen. As for my navman s50 satnav. I tried to update it through my laptop and all it did was remove the voice from it. What have I done wrong and how can I put it back?

You need two scart leads: the first goes from your TV to the TV scart socket on your Sky box. The second goes from your dvd/vcr to the VCR scart socket on your Sky box.

When you turn on your dvd/ vcr its scart connexion should allow you to watch recordings on the TV. To record make sure your dvd/vcr is tuned to the AV channel.
