I totally agree with the comments already posted. The last thing a stab victim wants to see when in hospital is some little toe rag being paraded into the hospital. Government is so out of touch with reality, it is unreal.

What they need is to be banged up in a high security prison with some serious nasty cons. Now that would be shocking to them.

like a lot of her colleagues in government and the other parties Jackie Smith is completely out of touch if she thinks that young people will be shocked by the site of stab victims in A&E or to visiting families of victims and then to talk to prisoners. She and the rest of the elected polititians need to stop making new laws stop "talking about the problems" and DO MORE

In my area local parks have been closed or the equipment removed so kids cannot go there to play they have closed the youth clubs Local cinemas have gone the nearest is 10 miles away and "out of town" so transport needed the cost is enormous.Nationally our kids are bombarde with programmes like Big brother a house full of the dregs of society looking for "stardom" the foul language the cavorting sexual acting is corrupting our young.

Films containing violence passed by the board which monitors films etc

Our young men and women live in difficult times the Thatcher years have a great deal to apologise for and so too the New Labour these people are ther to not only make laws and run the country they are there to be moral spitual guides to the nation well is there any wonder the nation is destroying itself polititians police teachers "the church" are all so keen to make a name for themselves and make large sums of money in the bargain how can they say they possibly care for the person in the street. They live in very big houses drive huge cars have great holidays seem to have it all what do these young men have no jobs, poor education,poor housing stuggle with drugs etc is there any wonder these sad young people feel lost and carry knives to survive the jungle of life. Mr Cameron Blair Brown Ms Smith and all their cronies children will not have to worry about these things they get the best schools the best leisure the best healthcare all because of who they are. When polititians start giving our young people the same rightsin life as their kids we may see a change in society.My heart goes out to those young men and women who live in these scary times,I pray that the older generation will stop condemning young people and find ways to help them.Kids are not born carrying knives they are not born bad it is society that corrupts.We adults must change things if our young are to feel safe.
