You know if you're doing a course in uni and in the 3rd year, you opt for the placement, how does that work? E.g. If someone is doing a business-related degree (Logistics Management) course and they go on a placement in their 3rd year,

- where do they/could they go?

- do they get paid?

- how long do they have to be there for?

- when do they have to get it all sorted out by? Say uni starts again in Oct, would it be too late to sort out the placement now or do they still have time to sort it out?

- when does the placement usually start, Sept? Oct? Nov?

- do the placements usually be in another city/country?

- what kind of places could they get a placement with if they are studying in the Logistics field?

- what kind of work/assignments related to their degree do thet have to do?

- is the placement year their final year or do they have to a year after it aswell?

- is the whole point of the placement where they go so that they might start working there then after they finish their degree?

Sooorrrryyy it's soo long but I'd really like to know please, thanks so much God bless ya xx

  1. My boyfriend is at Uni studying Marketing and he is just about to start his 3rd. Im not sure what kind of placement you could do but if you talk to the career advisor at the Uni they can point you in the right direction and give you some sites to look at.My boyfriend is meant to be doing a placement year in september but hasnt found one as of yet.But this is what i know about it. He started looking during his second year. The deadline to have one for him is about the 1st or 2nd week in September. They normally start in September but quite alot of his Uni friends started as earlier as July. It depends on the company. They are paid for it depends on the company how much, like if they are big companies and in a big city you will need more money for living costs and so on. If your course is a 4 year course then after placement you will have your last year. Hope this helps abit!

  2. my friend was training for a nursing degree and on the last year of uni she went on placement to the hospital and although she worked the 12 hour shifts that nurses do she didn't get paid for it, then if they like you they can offer you a job when uni finished. It would start 1 year before the degree course finished, if it finishes in August next year it will be august this year.
