UK Plumbers. Is there a way to convert two kitchen taps to one single mixer tap without changing the sink?

I know nothing about plumbing. Is it fairly easy (and possible) to change two individual kitchen taps (hot and cold) to one single mixed tap so that I can get warm water, without changing the whole kitchen sink?

Thanks.

  1. it's real easy a single tap will fit in holes like a double just connect water lines up like it was a double.will take maybe 10 minutes if you take your time

  2. The problem might be an extra hole or two in the sink.  If the new single tap doesn't come with a plate to cover them, you may be able to add a soap dispenser, or just a blank cover.

Ask at a plumbing supply store, or talk it over with a plumber.  Estimates are probably free.

  3. Yes,the holes for the mixer will be the same as for the old taps.Only thing is the old taps might be difficult to get off.If you buy a basin wrench it makes it easier to get at the nuts holding the tap connectors to the taps.Don`t forget the turn off the hot and cold water supply!
