UK Police Dog Handler unit?

I'm 15 turning 16 in december and I'm starting to think of jobs to do when I'm older. i really like animals and I'm good with them i find it also easy to train them so i thought about the police dog handler unit. I know i would have to be in the ordinary police for about 2 year before going into it. i would like more info on it like if there's a demand for them, do you need any qualifications for joining the police, if your in the dog handling unit what did you do, tests ext.. i just want as much info as possible plz thanks :)

depends on where you're at. most places in the uk purchase their dogs from outside sources already trained. ask someone in the k9 unit where you plan on living.
