In a nut, need money now, the future can wait. I have a private pension (one of a few) and want to try and cash in early. Mainstream methods do not let you do anything but wondering whether you can sell them on etc etc. Apart from attaining a terminal illness, which does not really appeal to me, are there any other ways?

  1. Yes you can do that but you will get much less than if you left it to mature on time, call them and they will tell you how much you will get if you cash it now and it is up to you to chose.

  2. If you sell it you will get riped off.

If you take it early you get riped off

You have to be 50+ to take it Early

If a company lays you of on ill heath you can get it in full, as i did after 26 years service.

  3. No.  That's the whole point, they protect you from yourself!!  I have a private pension with only about £500 in it from a job i had about 20 yrs ago.  I thought that £500 will be worthless when i retire and i would prob enjoy it more now on a holiday or something.  but NO i can't get at it and it can only be transferred to another pension!  I was v frustrated and am every year when i get my statement, but we'd just cash pensions in whenever we need a bit of cash so this would defeat the object really.
