UK - Registering non-pedigree dog for obedience .?

We want to register our dogs for obedience (dog shows/open shows/competitions). They are both are non-pedigree border collies, which makes them working sheepdogs.

What we want to know if we can register them for such shows, where we can do this if it is possible, what forms we need and/or where to get the information.

My dad does have experience in obedience shows but that was quite a few years ago, and we need clarification.

Thanks.

And could you give a source if you know one for a website if possible.

  1. It's easy, go to the Kennel Club Website, remember to put UK into your search, and all the information is there.

Good luck and have fun with your dogs.

  2. If you go to obedience classes, the trainer will have entry forms for local shows. Or you can download entry forms from the Internet.I think that I found forms when I keyed in "dog shows"

  3. Almost every reputable breed registry has an option to register dogs for competition in performance events such as obedience even if that dog lacks the proper paperwork to register them for the show ring (and many reputable registries will also allow you to register spayed/neutered mixed breeds to compete in performance events).  For the Kennel Club, that would be the Activity Register.  http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/457  About halfway down that page there is an article about the Activity Register and a link to the necessary application form.
