I can't believe this - anyone have any experience of this or are these 1/3 of whites just the people who have been unable to get a council house and feel aggrieved?

  1. It's probably correct, how many whites only organisations can you think of? and can you imagine the furore if someone were to start one, so yes, we whites are racially discriminated against, in fact it's probably true that most non whites are institutionally racist.

  2. I got rehoused within a month when i split with my ex, I am white, british and have no kids.

The tabloids fan these flames of hatred

Edit: Why two tds?  I know what happened I was there!!

  3. I strongly disagree. Prejudice against whites, particularly males, is institutionalised. Harriet Harman is currently trying to push a Bill through Parliament to support positive discrimination in favour of females and ethnics.

If you obtain all your news from the BBC, C4 and don't read the Mail or the Daily Telegraph, then it doesn't surprise me that you think there is no anti white discrimination, because the other outlets tend to be left of centre and will never report it. Eg. The Guardian.

Ignore the anti-Mail name calling. They can never explain why they have this attitiude. Name calling is easier for them.

  4. Pandering to the ignorant, which is what the Daily Mail does best. Baseless nonsense.

(G-unit, you are a moron. Can't you read?)

  5. "just the people who have been unable to get a council house and feel aggrieved?"

When you have lived and worked in your country all your life, as have your parents and grandparents, paid taxes, some of you ancestors have even laid down their lives for the country, then you find yourself homeless or insecurely housed and apply for council housing only to be told "no chance", but witness ethnic minority asylum seekers being given council housing, I'd say its quite legitimate to feel angry.

Besides which lots of white people HAVE been the victim of racism.  If you've ever walked down a street and had a bunch of asian lads screaming "You f*cking white b*tch!  White girls are sl*ts!" at you, you might feel you'd been the victim of racism too.

My partner applied to join the police and was turned down for no other reason that because he was white, straight and male and the local police force is currently prioritising applications from ethnic minority applicants.  Isn't that racism?  Pretty much seems like it to me - to be deselected for no other reason that your race.

Also, has anyone noticed how white-on-black racist murders like Stephen Lawrence get a lot of press attention but black-on-white racist murders like Kriss Donald barely get reported?

Mrs Grohl - you're just lucky that your local council were able to help you.  Councils vary greatly in what help they will give.

    Want to know my story?:

We're white and British, I was 7 months pregnant and we were about to lose our house to repossession (I'd had to stop work due to pregnancy-related illness and our mortgage insurance had left us down so we'd fallen 2 months behind in our payments).  We were told we would NOT be rehoused as the council do not help repossession cases and anyway there is "no council housing available".  We'd get 6 weeks in a grotty B&B and a list of private landlords.

Housing associations told us we'd be looking at a 7 year wait as the fact that we were a repossession case would count against us even though I was pregnant.

Meanwhile one local housing association has had to take on Somali-speaking interpreters to deal with all the Somali tenants who don't speak English.  They admitted that nearly 90% of their tenants are ex-asylum seekers.

THIS SORT OF THING is what "fans the fires of hatred".  And yes I am angry and resentful about it.  And I'm bloody well sure you would be too if it had been you!!!!!

  6. Depends what you mean...technically Irish, English and Scottish jokes are racist but we, the Irish, the English and the Scottish shrug them off as humour.  Maybe some of the PC brigade could learn from that!

  7. It is a fact.

A true story for you - my friend is white and has a son - she lost her house thru no fault of her own - went to the council for help and she was told - 'sorry, we can't help you, you are the wrong colour, now if you were from abroad we could help you'.

That is a TRUE story - I was with her when she went to the council and that is word for word what was said to her.

I told her to claim racism - and report it to the papers - 1 hour later - she got a place - how is that

  8. I returned to the UK after living abroad for many years. When I went to the council offices to place myself on the housing list, I was told blatantly, "you have a long wait, if ever of getting a council house, you have been out of the country too long!" But a foreign lady in front of me was given a form to fill in and a translator to help if she needed it and was told she would here in weeks!! I was furious.

Then I went to the job centre, and was told blatantly outright - you won't get any money here, and others take priority in some jobs. I told her I didnt want money, I wanted a job!! I asked her what she meant by her comment and she said "you know what I mean" with a nod to someone behind me who was North African appearance. So don't tell me there is not racism against whites.....well I dont actually call this racism.....it's not that they are against whites it is that they have to favour others because of PC, whether they want to or not.

  9. I'm not too sure - my two sons both applied for jobs in the service industry - one wanted to be a fireman and the other a policeman.  Both were turned down (and they had letters to prove it) because they wanted black people/women for the jobs.

  10. Personally I am white and yes I have been a 'victim' of racism, both at home and whilst travelling. I didn't feel particularly aggrieved by it and shrugged it off, but technically it was racism. (P.S these were generally in the form of specific comments making reference to my skin colour or British heritage, if that isn't overt racism I dont know what is!)

I seriously dont think that this is just people who feel aggrieved however, although many people certainly would have a right to be. We live in a society where 'positive discrimination' (a politically correct term for racism against the white majority) is actually open policy in many institutions such as the police (including many more, thats just one example I'm not picking specifically on one over the other.)

There is an argument that in 'Multicultural' Britain, a lot of people feel that British white culture is being effectively discriminated against in favour of the minority.

We have parts of the country now that have effectively become ghettos of one race or ethnic origin due to uncontrolled immigration, and a lot of areas have become 'no go' areas for whites, to coin a tabloid phrase. As much as this can be put down to sensationalism by the press, it does actually occur.

When people think of the word racist, a lot automatically assume that it is whites being racist against another group. In reality every ethnic group or race has a percentage of the population that is just as racist as every other group, and in certain populations (but not all) that group is unfortunately increasing.

I also personally think that this 1/3 figure is actually much much higher when overt and covert racism is taken into account.

  11. I dont feel i have been a victim of racism. We often see ethnic minorities encouraged to join companies and services, and the equal opportunity scheme can make it seem that these groups are being favoured to restore some kind of balance. I havent seen it in action, so i cant really say.

  12. The story actually states:

"The survey found that 29 per cent of white people expect to be treated worse than other groups by at least one of eight public services, including the police, prisons, courts, Crown Prosecution service, probation service, local housing organisations, schools or GPs.

"Whites identified council housing departments or housing associations as the most likely to discriminate against them.

"The proportion of members of ethnic minority groups who expected to face discrimination from one of the eight bodies fell from 38 per cent in 2001 to 34 per cent.

"But it remains higher than for white people in many categories, particularly the police."

In other words, non-whites still expect to be discriminated against more than whites do but, as usual, the Mail publishes a knocking story about po' white folks being discriminated against!
