as well as this PSHE and Citizenship classes. It sounds like a Blairite brainwashing session, if not it's too open to the teachers opinion, and I would like to check the content before allow my child to be taught anything other than hard facts.

  1. You have the right to be kept fully informed about what is taking place in your child's classroom.  Furthermore, you have a duty to cultivate a good teacher/parent relationship and work in partnership with your child's school. Please have a look at the framework for personal, social and health education and citizenship at the different key stages.  Through PSHE pupils gain the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and to become informed, active, responsible citizens.  Pupils are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities and experiences across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of their school and communities.  In doing so they learn to recognise their own worth, work well with others and become increasingly responsible for their own learning.  They reflect on their experiences and understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.  They also find out about the main political and social institutions that affect their lives and about their responsibilities, rights and duties as individuals and members of communities.  Hard facts indeed!  Right i'm off to change a light bulb!

  2. Lol Paranoid abit?

I think you're being a bit overprotective, what are they going to teach him that isn't hard fact? This is the 21st Century. Please don't pull your child out of this class for his sake. Would you rather a teacher tell him the hard scientific facts (which modern s*x ed is based on) or hear it from his friends alone and not have the science behind it to know better, I know because I went through s*x ed not long ago and again recently (last year) as they're getting really paranoid about teenagers in this day and age and seem to think that we're all knife wielding chavs.
