I'm a Canadian. Have no British family members. I have a college certificate so I dont qualify for the Highly Skilled visa. My gf and I have been together 2 years, long distance, not living together, we don't want to get married but want to be able to live together. In order to afford to live together we both need to be working. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of visa to apply for? If I get a working Holiday Maker would it allow me to apply for a civil partnership after 2 years when the visa is up and would it be concidered lying if I got that type of visa knowing that I intend to register a CP after 2 years if all stays well between me and my gf? Please help me I want to do things legally but I need to be able to live AND WORK in the UK. Thanks soooooo much!!

  1. Only option is to get a working holiday visa. Get a job once you are in the UK and apply for sponsorship via your work. As long as you stay in your same employer you can stay in the UK. After 6 years in the UK you can apply to be a permanent residents and apply for citizenship.
