I'm from California and I'm going to be visiting London and Scotland in 2 weeks (yay!) can you tell me how the weather is? Being from Cali I only have shorts, tanks, dresses and flip flops...will that do?? Please help, I don't want to be the only idiot in shorts if it's freezing. It's about in the 90 degrees area every day here, is it close to that over there? I doubt it...

  1. weather here about 18 degrees and raining..

but please dont worry its a beautiful country and we will welcome you with open arms.

  2. The weather is FANTASTIC here - honest...!

No, I wouldn't be that cruel. The weather has been really bad here. Raining every day. It is around 16 - 20 degrees c in the day but not any higher than that. Bring a waterproof jacket and you'll be fine. Don't forget your umbrella and don't bother bringing shorts. Jeans and a top would do....with your waterproof jacket!

  3. its about that over here in the uk.[teasing].i hope you have a wonderful time here in this beautiful country of mine.happy holidays.

  4. Shorts is fine but pack a rain mac and a jumper.

August can be hot here in London but it can also be cold and wet. Pack for all eventualities or at least be prepared to buy something if you find you need it. Pack a pair of good walking shoes, you'll need them if you are going to make the most of the city.

  5. The summer weather here is variable. It should be around 15-25C on average, but could just as easily be hotter here than it is in California.

Bring a good supply of clothes, including a raincoat and umbrella. It is very rainy right now, with red hot days followed by cool wet days.

It is more likely to be cooler in the north, so London should have a higher average temperature than Scotland, but don't consider this a cast iron rule. Some parts of Scotland have very warm localised micro-climates, especially in the west, warmed by the Atlantic Gulf Stream.

  6. Hi,our weather is unpredictable at the moment we have rain.

You might be lucky & weather picks up.Play safe bring clothes suitable for rain & wind.Have a lovely holiday & welcome to good old fashioned English Weather

  7. Well I'm afraid at the mo it's quite wet...but you never know it could all change in 2 weeks so i suggest going out and buy some trousers, shoes that cover ur feet and a cardi :) soz u can't rely on the weather here hav a good holiday

  8. in two weeks means it will still be nice and warm. I suggest u buy jeans and a light jacket because there i s good chance it will rain. so yea. Shorts are fine but i suggest jeans, maybe polos, tanks are fine since it will still be fairly warm

  9. You will need trousers, shirts, jumpers a waterproof jacket and an umbrella.

  10. hmmmmmm something tells me youre rubbin it in!!! non stop rain here!!

  11. The long range forecast in the UK this summer is not good.  Expect rain and an average temperature of between 65 - 70 with the occasional hot day (80+) in between.  Shorts and tank tops aren't going to cut it, I'm afraid.  Bring a waterproof jacket, lots of layers, some sensible shoes (not flip flops) and an umbrella and you should be fine.

This is not our usual summer - last year and this year are the worst summers I can remember in 3 decades.  We usually do better than this, but at least you'll be getting the stereotypical British experience.... sorry!

  12. Well at the moment its been raining all day and is going to for the rest of the week and next. Its not what Id call cold, but it can be chilly, especially in the evening time. I go out of my house everyday in t-shirts and short sleeved tops all the time though, (I live in London) and it does get a bit chilly. Bring some cardigans and jeans just in case as the weather is very unpredictable. Warm one day, raining the next. Dont know about Scotland though. Hope you enjoy your holiday!
