Check. As i've just done a Hpi on a car i'm interested in buying and it says it was recorded as total loss, and this..

Vehicle Condition

Condition alertVRM recorded as a 'total loss' by insurers

Condition inspectedVRM not recorded as a repaired insurance 'total loss'

Does that mean it hasn't had a VIC?

But surely you have to have one to get the log book back don't you?

  1. Cars written off into Cats A, B or C do need a VIC check before they can be re-taxed. Cat D doesn't. When re-taxed, with VIC if required, it will be recorded as damaged - repaired.Looks like this hasn't been done.  You need to enquire more deeply.

  2. RE REGISTER WITH THE  DVLA

  3. some times you do the insurance company will let you no.
