Question:

UK: Where can I buy black market petrol?

Considering how the government rips off the British people to the point of almost poverty/debt AND now the oil companies (BP and Exxonmobil) have announced BILLIONS of pounds in profit because of the rise in oil (and petrol) prices - while we are all struggling to meet the cost of living as a result, I believe this gives us all the right to break the law (made by the government don't forget) in buyin untaxed "black market" petrol)

PS: Guess who will be out of as job at the next general election?

  1. Someone answer that question please. I need some too.

  2. There is a illicit petrol trade between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic, you could relocate to the border regions of either country.

It's also the laws of supply and demand. If the demand wasn't there, then the price would drop.

Do you want to save money? Do you switch off your engine when parked at the side of the road?

You forget of course that that tax pays for things like the health service. The US imposes agas tax of only 20c or so a gallon, but they have no universal system of health care, so you are on your own as far as paying for hospital treatment goes.

Before you fill up on the cheap, illicit petrol tends to be bulked out with industrial solvent. If you used it, that would explain the misfiring and smoky exhaust which would result and it would also ruin the catalytic converter on your exhaust, which not only costs around £1,000 to replace, but is also an instant MOT failure when they check the emissons on your car aren't within legal limits.

  3. All petrol has duty on it at the same rate, unlike 'red' or 'green' diesel, so the only black market petrol you're going to find is stolen stuff.

Buy it, and you're dealing with some pretty serious people - nicking a 40,000 litre tanker is not a petty theft.

  4. "I believe this gives us all the right to break the law".

This may surprise you, but when you end up in court for evading tax, that phrase won't be much of a defence...

  5. Break the law? Give me another couple of mins & I'll have siphoned all your petrol from your car on your driveway. Will gladly sell it back to you when I'm done.

Just remember black market petrol must come from somewhere.

  6. You need a large can plus a long tube, oh and some mouthwash.
