UK and US passport?

Do i need a US passport to fly from the UK to the US for a holiday or can i do this with a UK passport

  1. It all depends, are you an American Citizen? if so you need to have your US passport to enter the country, as a form of id, if you don't have it, it does not matter if you are an American Immigration would not let you in, and if they let you come into he country, you would have to pay a very expensive fee as a penalty.

    Now if you are not an American, you definitely need a passport from the country you are from to enter the country even if you are coming to visit for an hour or so.


  2. Passports are identification issued by the country you are a citizen of.  If you are from the UK, and only have citizenship there, you can't get a US passport.  So, your UK passport is all you need.

    I hope that answers your question?  Unless you are a dual citizen of both countries that can apply for either passport, and can travel on either?  Or did you mean a US Visa - which is permission to travel into the US, which you don't need as the UK is on the visa waiver program.
