Question:

UK and the price of fuel at the pumps?

By Christmas, what are your predictions for a litre of 4 star in the UK?

If we all ban Esso and BP filling stations and just use supermarket or Jet filling stations, will this really force the oil giants in the UK to reduce their prices? You must have seen the email going round.

  1. Don't know about 4 star , I don't know where they sell it these days.

  2. its the fault of oil producing countries that are not increasing supply to keep up with demand...............its jihad without the bombs and bullets

  3. Unless the government act quickly to cut the tax they earn on fuel, then by the end of the year I can see unleaded running at about £1.60 per litre with diesel at £1.80.

Cheery little soul aren't I !!!!. Oh, and happy christmas.

  4. Nothing wrong with the old horse & cart. Anyone need a lift??

  5. Petrol prices are so high because of the tax we pay not the oil companies. Coke costs more per litre than petrol and that's only sugar and water. Petrol is produced by pumping out the oil, shipping half way round the world and processing for days. Why are our taxes so high? Because we have reams and reams of pointless expensive bureaucracy, 3 times more public workers than we need and £26m a day lost income from tobacco revenue.

If we want services we have to pay for them. So if we stop everyone smoking but don't stop the bureaucrats and terror mongers the costs will only continue to rise and they have to be covered from somewhere.

Some 40% and rising of British production industry has moved to China because the costs are lower, the restrictions are less and you don't have to fill in a form and get a certificate to wipe your backside.

I agree oil companies make huge profits but they make them from the 50p or so a litre they charge. Look to the government for the rest.

  6. I think it's a disgrace mate they're disgusting high, perhaps we all should hold a strike and then watch their profits fall...

  7. i don't really know, lets see

  8. FOUR STAR??  -  That went out ten years ago!!!!

Unleaded might make £1.50 per litre by Christmas.  Then the whole country might be out of work if no one can afford to travel.

Looks like the greenies will get their wish in the end - we'll all be priced off the roads!!
