A week or so ago i recieved a card through the door while i was out for an undelivered parcel. Unfortunately i've mislaid the card (either that or the kids ate it) and would like to know if there's any way i can still collect the parcel without the card. Thanks.

  1. Yes just take sum proof of I.D. with you to the post office. Failing that just slap the postman and take your parcel.

  2. What part of the UK are you in?

England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Irland?

  3. Sorry but NO.  The card is the ONLY form of ID the Royal Mail will accept - this happened to a friend a few weeks back and the staff said to him 'No Card, No Parcel'.

  4. You should still be able to collect it if you can prove who you are and what your address is. I don't believe that they can say 'no card', 'no parcel' because I believe that legally the contents belong to you - it may be difficult for them to find without the reference number on the card, but not impossible. I would ring up the office beforehand, explain the situation and find out from them what the acceptable proof would be if you don't want a wasted journey.

  5. I'm always losing those cards, so don't worry. Just take id with your name and address on and it should be fine.

  6. Go to your local sorting office, take two forms of ID - passsport and driving licence maybe - and explain the situation.

  7. You can still collect the parcel. Take ID with you to the delivery office - like a driving licence, passport, plus something with proof of address.
