do taxis charge per mile or how much time the journey takes (the advance booked taxis)

and how much approximately do company taxis charge

most taxis charge you a flat start of rate then it goes up by 10p per 10th of a mile,

it's usually a set fee to an airport as they usually have certain drivers who do those runs.

i'm in hertfordshire & it's around 70quid each way to Gatwick...around 30-35 to Luton...but that was before the fuel increases...maybe more now.

my daughter gets the train from St. Albans into Gatwick...much cheaper!

black cabs charge 2.50 befor u get in the taxi then charge per mile

private hire just charge per mile in birmingham 10 miles will cost about 15/20
