  1. I couldn't agree more, mate.  What happened to the customer is always right?

First, you ring the call centre in Bangalore, where the staff are briefed each day on the British weather, so they can chit-chat.  But before you get to speak to someone you pay a fortune in menus and listen to daft tunes while you wait to be connected.  If they have no-one to answer the phone, why not just let the bleedin' thing ring?...at least that's free.

When you get through, they have a million excuses why it's all your fault, didn't you read the small print?  "It says quite clearly in sub section 17(b) 1 that you are an idiot."  The company is of course blameless.  But thank you for the call, "Is there anything else I can p*ss you off with?"

The banks and electric/gas companies are the worst, but they are all catching on

  2. Fantastic question, you know you ever get the feeling you're just a number when you call up these big companies? Almost every time without fail as soon as your answered usually after waiting on hold for at least 10 minutes and tell them your query they then put you back on hold as I personally believe most are just new starts (The turnover for staff in this profession is high)

All the time it's costing YOU money whilst they have to go and ask for advice most probably to their Line manager or if in their first month on job trainer, It can be really frustrating and when I recently phoned my Gas company to a query a bill (Which then turned out to be for the wrong amount) I was on the phone for 45 mins just to ask ONE question!!

Still waiting on them sending out the right bill and asked them if they would be refunding the cost of my call... I find that very unlikely however most of these companies are only after profit that's the number one rule in capitalism

    Much respect, hope that helps

  3. No not really. I'm just assertive and usually right is on my side.

  4. I call these people filters and nothing more.

They are there to filter you meaning "Why the h**l are you calling here for"

  5. yeh its gettin worse but it just makes me wanna be even nicer to ppl inc my guests in hotel

  6. yep - I've spent the last 5 days fighting for my right to have my 2 month old TV swapped for a new one after it's developed a fault and I'm just gonna name and shame them - http://www.directtvs.co.uk/ - their prices are fantastic but their after sales service is disgusting.

They tried sending me direct to the manufacturer when my contract lies with them as they sold me the TV.

Just for future reference for you all the law states that if a product develops a fault during the first 6 months then it can be classed as fault from new under the sale of goods act 1979.

Don't be fobbed off - stand up for your rights and get knowledge so you know what you are talking about and what your rights are.
