UK do doctors have to sit "boards" every few years to make sure they keep up to date with training/medicine?

  1. Today I had my annual appraisal.

    I spent two hours with my appraiser demonstrating that since last year I had engaged in sufficienjt continuing medical education and had a personal development plan that I was working through.

    All GPs in the UK have to do this.

    If they don't they can be refused a license to work.

    There are plans to make it even more difficult. It will be called 'revalidation' - a bit like sitting an exam.


  2. nope nothing like that is currently in the UK although it was in the news a while ago that it should be implemented. But suprised suprise the doctors disagreed.
